What's Behind the Walls makes no network requests. It has no server, no account, no analytics and no identifier. Nothing you do with it leaves your computer.

WHAT IT READS
On a listing site you have explicitly enabled, it reads what is already on the page in your browser: the year built, state and ZIP, property type, floor area, bathroom count, and the listing description text. It reads these from the page you already loaded. It does not contact the listing site, call its APIs, or fetch anything in the background.

WHAT IT DOES WITH THEM
Everything is calculated locally. The era tables, regional data and cost figures are bundled inside the extension, which is why no lookup is needed. The values above are used to produce the report shown on screen, held in memory while that page is open, and discarded on navigation. No address, listing, search or browsing record is transmitted anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to go.

WHAT IS STORED
In your browser's own extension storage, on your device only: which sites you have hidden the panel on, and whether the panel is switched on. Both are clearable from the extension's preferences. The toolbar popup additionally remembers the last state you selected in the manual form, in localStorage, on your device.

LINKS
The panel shows a phone number or a link to a contractor licence lookup. Clicking one behaves like any other link. The extension does not report that you clicked it. Links to the sponsor's website carry UTM parameters, the standard mechanism any website uses to see which page sent a visitor.

PERMISSIONS
storage — the two preferences above.
scripting — to run the extension's own code on sites you have enabled.
host permissions — Firefox grants these one at a time, only when you ask. Nothing runs on a site you have not enabled, and you can withdraw any of them at any time.

THIRD PARTIES
There are none. No data is shared, sold or disclosed to anyone, because none is collected.
