by Firefox user 18542402, 2 years agoI have a very long history (several years) of working with Video DownloadHelper (VDH). In the beginning, it was the perfect app for me to use to download pretty much any video I wanted to, and in some cases converting a video to audio.
I have noticed an increasing number of videos that require an external app loaded to complete the conversion that used to be handled solely by the VDH. I don't feel comfortable installing more apps on my computer that I don't know just on someone's say so. As a result I'm unable to use VDH for most of my needs.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 19595273, 4 hours agoreally couldnt live without this addon. its real value is in sniffing out the url of the video. i use it to copy the url of the file, then send it to jdownloader, which is a faster more dependable download manager, but on some sites, vdh is able to download files when sending the url to jdownloader causes a failure. the renaming feature is amazing but only works when using vdh to do the downloading. although the description says it can download youtube videos, i have not been able to get that to work. i love vdh.

- Rated 4 out of 5by 🌱 𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙤𝙧𝙚『ジュソレ』✊, 15 hours agoIt works on most websites, although it would be nice if it supported multi-threaded downloads for those websites that limit download speed. And it would be great if it allowed downloading content displayed on the canvas of websites.
