Shorts Comments Fix repairs the comments panel and action buttons on the desktop YouTube website at https://www.youtube.com/. It works in desktop Firefox and in Firefox for Android with Desktop site mode enabled. The ordinary mobile website and the native YouTube app are not supported. It does not send data to the extension developer, advertising services, or analytics services.

Data processed in your browser
The extension reads YouTube comment requests and responses, the current Shorts page and video identifier, and the state of the comments panel. It uses this information to detect comments for a different short or a panel that has stopped updating. It does not create a browsing-history record or record your clicks, keystrokes, or scrolling.

Requests sent to YouTube
To load the correct comments or recover a stuck panel, the extension can repeat or trigger the page's own comment requests to YouTube on www.youtube.com. These requests identify the short whose comments should be loaded and reuse the page's request context and headers. The browser may include existing YouTube cookies or authentication information according to the original request and your browser session. YouTube receives and handles these requests as part of its service. The extension does not send this information to another destination.

Firefox data permissions
The extension declares Website content and Browsing activity because these repair requests transmit YouTube request information and the identity of the short being viewed to YouTube. This transmission is necessary for the extension's comment repair function. Firefox asks you to accept these required data permissions when installing the extension.

Storage and diagnostics
Comment content and video identifiers are handled in memory and are not saved by the extension as a persistent history. There is no developer telemetry, advertising tracking, sale of data, or remotely downloaded extension code. If you manually enable debug mode, messages, which can include video identifiers and errors, are written only to your browser console. Troubleshooting preferences that you set manually use the YouTube page's localStorage.

You can stop the extension's processing and repair requests by disabling or removing it and reloading your YouTube tabs. YouTube's own requests continue independently of the extension.
