You know the moment. A word you half-recognise, in the middle of a paragraph you are enjoying. You guess it from context, keep reading, and by the end of the page it is gone. WordySpot catches those words while you read, so you still have them afterwards.

It marks the English words on a page that are likely new to you — judged against your own vocabulary level and the words you have already saved, not a fixed beginner list. WHO IT IS FOR
Intermediate and advanced learners who would rather build vocabulary out of real reading — articles, papers, fiction, documentation — than drill someone else's flashcard deck. If you are near the beginning of English, this is not the right tool yet. I would rather tell you here than take your time.

HOW IT WORKS
• Open a page and WordySpot marks the words worth a second look. Pages get quieter as you go: anything you mark as known stops being highlighted.
• Click a word for its meaning. Press play to hear it.
• Save a word to a list — Known, Learning, Ignore, or lists you make yourself. It syncs to your account, so it is there in your other browsers too. The reading panel groups words by list.
• Only visible text is read. Text the page hides, collapsed sections, and anything hidden from screen readers are left alone.
• Very long pages stop at a processing limit so they stay responsive; WordySpot then says the page was read in part. Rescan page picks up anything that loaded after you arrived.
• A dictionary ships inside the extension, so working out which words are new to you happens on your own machine. You can browse it by spelling, popularity or first letter.

HOW IT LOOKS
The button on the page is yours: Off, Quiet, or Always visible, in Plain or Glass, on either side and at whatever height suits you. On a computer it starts Off — the toolbar button or Alt+Shift+W opens the panel, and nothing sits on top of what you are reading. On a touch device it starts Quiet, because there the toolbar is buried in a menu. Existing choices are kept when you update.

The button never brings a colour of its own to someone else's website; it borrows a light or dark shade from the page behind it. The reading panel follows each website's own theme, or you can keep Light or Dark for that site. Change any of this from wordyspot.com/extension, with a live preview. Decide where WordySpot runs with allowed-site and ignored-site rules that sync with your account, and test a rule before you rely on it.

PRIVACY
The page you are reading stays in your browser. WordySpot does not upload page text, page addresses, or your browsing history, and deciding which words are new to you needs no network request at all. A single word leaves your browser only when you ask for its definition, ask to hear it, or save it — and pronunciation requests carry no cookies and do not reveal which page you were on. Your lists, saved words, vocabulary level, and the site rules you type sync with your WordySpot account. How the button looks, and any theme you keep for a particular site, stay in this browser. The extension does not run in private windows. The privacy policy covers operational request data, retention and deletion.

GETTING STARTED
Install the extension, open https://wordyspot.com/extension, and sign in to connect your account. Then open a normal web page with some English prose on it. If website access is missing, open the extension's options to restore it and try again.
