WEM Price Compare does not collect personal information. There is no account, no sign-up, and no field in the extension that asks for your identity.

WHAT IS SENT
When a comparison runs, the extension sends the product's title, price, currency and — where the retailer publishes one in the page's own structured data — its barcode (GTIN/EAN/UPC), along with the retailer's hostname, to wem3.ai. This is used only to look up prices for that product and to return the results shown in the panel.

On the 44 declared retailer domains this happens automatically on product pages. On every other site nothing runs until you open the extension and click "Compare this page's product".

ANONYMOUS USAGE DATA (OPTIONAL)
The extension records anonymous events — panel shown, link clicked, which shop a comparison ran from, and your browser's display language — keyed to a random identifier generated at install. This identifier is not linked to you and is not shared. On Firefox you may decline this at install; the comparison feature works fully without it.

COARSE TECHNICAL DATA DERIVED FROM THE REQUEST
When the extension contacts our servers we derive and store three coarse values alongside those anonymous events:
- your approximate country, as a two-letter code (country-level only — never your city, region or coordinates), so we know which markets to support next;
- your browser family (for example Firefox, Chrome, Edge);
- your operating system family (for example Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS).
Your IP address and full user-agent string are read in passing to derive these and are never stored against your events. These values are shared by millions of people and cannot identify you individually.

WHAT IS NEVER COLLECTED
Browsing history, page content beyond the product being compared, form input, cookies, credentials, payment details, precise location (city, region or coordinates), and any personally identifying information. The extension does not fingerprint, does not track you across sites, and does not sell or share data with third parties.

STORAGE
Settings and short-lived result caches are stored locally in your browser and can be cleared by removing the extension.

AFFILIATE LINKS
Choosing an offer in the panel opens a wem3.ai redirect that may carry an affiliate tag, from which WEM may earn a commission. This never changes the price you pay, and the extension never rewrites links on the page you are already viewing or overrides another publisher's affiliate credit.
