Privacy Policy: Waypoints for Claude

Waypoints is a browser extension that helps you find your way around your own conversations on claude.ai. This policy explains exactly what it stores and what it doesn't.

IN SHORT
- Everything Waypoints stores stays in your browser, on your device.
- Nothing is ever sent to the developer or to anyone else. Waypoints has no server, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
- It runs only on claude.ai, and never in private windows.

WHAT WAYPOINTS STORES
Only information about the messages you send on claude.ai while Waypoints is installed:
- the chat's ID and title
- for each message you send: the first 300 characters, a short fingerprint of the text, and the time you sent it
- for messages you save: up to 600 characters, plus any note you add
- your settings, such as display options and keyboard shortcuts
This is kept in the browser's local extension storage. It isn't synced to other devices, and Claude's replies are never stored.

WHAT WAYPOINTS DOES NOT DO
- It doesn't send, sell, share or transfer your data to anyone.
- It doesn't access other websites, your browsing history, or your Claude account settings.
- It doesn't use your data for advertising, profiling or anything unrelated to its features.
- It doesn't load or run code from the internet.

PERMISSIONS
- Access to claude.ai: to show the message rail and panel, and to read the messages you send there. No other site.
- Storage: to keep send times, saved messages and settings on your device.
- Unlimited storage: so long-time users can keep more than the browser's default limit. It doesn't change where the data is kept.

YOUR CONTROL
- See it: the Waypoints panel shows everything stored (History and Saved tabs).
- Export it: Settings → Export backup saves it all to a file you keep.
- Delete it: Settings → Delete all data. Removing the extension also deletes everything it stored.

CHANGES
If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new effective date before the change ships.
