Privacy policy for WaylaTab
- Information we don't collect
No tracking or telemetry: no third-party trackers, analytics scripts, or behavioral monitoring code.
No account required: no email, username, or login needed to use WaylaTab.
No remote syncing: your link lists, tasks, reminders, and notes never leave your computer. - How local data is stored
WaylaTab uses standard browser APIs (chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB) to store preferences, link lists, dashboard layouts, and custom wallpapers. This data stays on your device; clearing extension data or uninstalling permanently deletes it. - Chrome permissions & why we need them
storage: required to save settings, widget state, and preferences locally.
bookmarks (optional): only used if you grant it, to display and search your bookmarks. Read in-memory, never transmitted.
tabs (optional): used solely to stash open tabs into saved sessions or open links on your command. - Third-party services & external APIs
Unsplash API: fetches daily wallpapers and credits photographers per Unsplash's guidelines.
Open-Meteo API: fetches public weather forecasts from your coordinates or a selected city, sent without identifiers.
Favicon service: requests website icons from Google's public favicon service. - Contact & questions
