About this extension
Vesselock is a one-way passage for links that should not inherit the browsing identity of the current tab. Use the link context menu, paste a web address, or isolate the current page. Vesselock creates a new Firefox Container, opens exactly the requested HTTP or HTTPS address inside it, and records the container locally as temporary.
Before opening the address, the extension removes a narrow, documented set of common advertising and campaign parameters such as utm_ fields, fbclid, gclid, and msclkid. Functional query parameters are preserved. Vesselock does not shorten the address, contact a reputation service, inspect the destination page, or promise anonymity. Network requests still travel through the user’s normal browser and connection.
The popup lists active chambers, their current tab count, and the destination hostname. Closing the last tab triggers cleanup of the corresponding container and its isolated cookies. “Keep” converts a temporary chamber into a normal retained container by removing it from automatic cleanup. “End” removes the chosen container immediately and closes its container state according to Firefox behavior.
All registry data stays in browser.storage.local. It contains container identifiers, creation time, the opened URL, and whether the user retained the chamber. There are no accounts, analytics, advertising, remote code, telemetry, or extension-operated servers. Vesselock does not read webpage content and does not run content scripts.
