About this extension
Verity checks what evidence actually exists about an image, video, or audio file instead of guessing "real or fake".

Right-click any media on a page, choose "Verify with Verity", and get a transparent verdict with per-signal evidence:
  • C2PA Content Credentials: cryptographic proof of origin (Adobe/Microsoft/BBC standard)
  • Prior sightings: perceptual-hash matching against a public registry catches recycled media under new captions
  • Fact-check matching: reviewed claims via fact-check sources and ClaimReview markup
  • Metadata and pixel forensics: editing traces, AI-generator signatures, EXIF anomalies
  • Context checks: geolocation, daylight, weather, domain age, news coverage

Verdicts are Verified / Unverified / Suspicious, never a bare "fake" score, and every verdict shows exactly what was found.

Privacy-first: analysis runs locally on your device; only content hashes are queried against the public registry. Per-site access is requested only when you check something.
