Summary
Universal Price Tracker does not collect, sell, or share personal information. All tracked product data stays on your device, in your browser's local storage.

What the extension stores locally
When you track a product, the extension saves the following to your browser's local storage. This never reaches us or any third party: product title, URL, and image; price history for that product; stock status; any target price alert you set. This data stays on your device. Uninstalling the extension deletes it.

What the extension sends over the network, and why
Price checks: to check whether a tracked product's price has changed, the extension periodically requests the product's own page directly from the retailer you are tracking it on. This is the same request your browser makes when you visit that page yourself. No personal data is attached to these requests.
Subscription validation: if you activate a Pro licence key, that key is sent to our Cloudflare Worker, which forwards it to Lemon Squeezy's licence API to confirm your subscription is active. The key itself is not linked to any personal data by us. See Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy for how they handle payment and account information.

What we don't do
We don't collect browsing history. We don't use analytics or tracking scripts. We don't sell or share data with advertisers. We don't have access to your tracked product list, it never leaves your device.

Permissions explained
storage: save your tracked products locally.
activeTab: read product details from the page you're currently viewing when you click "Track".
scripting: run the price-scraping logic on pages you choose to track, including sites not pre-listed, only after you grant permission.
alarms: schedule periodic price checks in the background.
notifications: alert you when a tracked price drops or an item is back in stock.
Host permissions (retailer domains): fetch product pages in the background to check prices without needing a tab open.
Optional all_urls permission: only requested, per site, when you track a product on a site not in the pre-approved list.

Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the extension after a change constitutes acceptance of the update.
