A Story is gone in a day, and by the time you have copied its link into some other website it may already have expired. StorySaver puts a small download control directly onto whatever is on screen, so the thing you are watching right now can be kept without leaving Instagram. It behaves the same way on Stories, Reels, feed videos, photos and Carousel posts.

• The download control appears in place, on the post, Reel or Story currently being viewed.
• Stories are catchable while they are still visible, which is usually the only window you get.

1. Install StorySaver and browse Instagram in Firefox the way you normally would.
2. When something is worth keeping, click the StorySaver control shown on that item.
3. Confirm the save; the browser handles the file through its ordinary save flow and puts it with your other downloads.
4. Adjust the filename format or datetime format on the settings page whenever you want a different naming scheme.

StorySaver runs locally inside your browser and sends no user data to any server. There is no account, no sign-up step, no tracking and no analytics. The settings you pick - filename format and datetime format - are written to local browser storage on your own machine and nowhere else.
