SondeHub Custom Locations does not collect, sell, share, or transmit user data to the developer. The extension has no developer-operated server, account system, analytics, telemetry, advertising, or direct extension network requests.

DATA STORED BY THE EXTENSION

The extension stores marker names, coordinates, appearance settings, and internal record identifiers using Firefox’s storage API.

On desktop Firefox, Mozilla may synchronize this data between the user’s Firefox profiles through Firefox Sync when extension syncing is enabled. Mozilla operates that service. The extension developer does not receive or have access to synchronized data.

Firefox for Android stores the extension’s data locally because WebExtension storage synchronization is unavailable there.

CSV imports and exports are user-initiated local file operations. The extension does not upload CSV files.

SONDEHUB MAP ACCESS

The extension runs content scripts only on:

Saved marker data is read and rendered in Firefox’s isolated content-script environment inside a closed shadow root. Marker names, coordinates, icons, colors, and sizes are not sent to or exposed to SondeHub page scripts.

The extension reads public map geometry from the page only to position its private marker layer. SondeHub can detect or hide the generic marker host and Markers button, but its page scripts cannot inspect the private marker tree or receive saved marker values.

PERMISSIONS AND NETWORK ACCESS

The extension requests the storage API permission. It does not declare a separate host_permissions block.

Extension pages use a content security policy that blocks network connections and remotely loaded resources.

The manifest declares locationInfo because Mozilla-operated Firefox Sync may transport saved coordinates between the user’s desktop Firefox profiles. The developer does not receive this data.

DATA DELETION

Users can delete individual markers or all saved markers from the extension’s options page. Mozilla and Firefox control synchronized copies, Firefox account retention, browser-profile backups, and removal associated with the user’s Firefox account or browser profile.
