About this extension

SnapSave brings one identical download button to four different social networks. On Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter) and TikTok the control sits on the post you are already viewing and behaves the same way every time, so switching network never means learning a new tool. Four separate downloaders become a single button you already know.

One download button that behaves the same on Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter) and TikTok
A quality picker that lists exactly what the page offers for that post, never an invented resolution
Video saved as MP4, photos saved as JPG, and the audio track pulled out to MP3 when that is what you want
A bundled ffmpeg WebAssembly module joins a separate audio stream and video stream into one playable file on your own computer
The finished file is handed to Firefox's own download manager, so progress, pause, resume and the download list all behave normally
A settings page with 7 controls: filename format, datetime format, jpeg to jpg renaming, hash id, indexing, video controls and the open-in-new-tab icon

Install SnapSave and open Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter) or TikTok as you normally would.
Go to the post, Reel, Story or clip you want to keep; the SnapSave button appears on it.
Click the button and choose a format and quality from the list the page provides.
SnapSave prepares the file and passes it to Firefox, which saves it to your download folder.

SnapSave runs locally in your browser and sends no user data to any server. There is no account, no sign-up, no tracking and no analytics, and your 7 settings stay in local browser storage on your own device. Audio and video merging is done on your own machine by the bundled ffmpeg WebAssembly module, so no media is ever uploaded anywhere for processing.
