Local filtering does not upload browsing activity. Settings, counters, up to 150 recent checks, 200 timing samples and Always show choices remain in this browser. Clearing history deletes checks and timings; Always show choices persist. Removing the extension removes local data. There are no feedback uploads, layout-drift reports, advertising or analytics SDKs.

Optional Slop patrol is off by default. With your consent it sends visible video IDs, titles, channel names, description snippets and page language to Shortless's Cloudflare-hosted service, which forwards metadata text to TypeSafe's Jev. This can reveal videos you encounter without playing them. No cookies, account details, search queries, full pages, transcripts, audio or video are sent. Missing descriptions are requested from YouTube without account cookies or a referrer.

Cloudflare receives source IP addresses to serve requests. The classifier turns them into keyed rate-limit values changing every minute, separate from video data. Verdicts, video IDs and input hashes are cached for up to seven days; titles and snippets are not retained in that cache. Providers process requests under their own policies; zero provider retention is not promised. Anonymous aggregate counts and bounded numeric service timings are retained without video IDs, text, IPs or user identifiers.

Patrol is always disabled in private windows. Local private browsing filters do not save activity, timings or counters. Turning Patrol off stops new requests; requests already sent may finish. Data is not sold. Questions: hello@shortless.app.
