RealVPN browser extension: Privacy Policy

This policy covers the RealVPN extension for Firefox, operated by Security Tech OÜ, Sepapaja tn 6, 15551 Tallinn, Estonia. The policy for the RealVPN service as a whole is at https://realvpn.io/privacy-policy

What the extension sends to RealVPN
- Your email and password when you sign in or create an account. They are sent over HTTPS to the RealVPN API and used only to sign you in. The extension does not store your password, only a sign-in token.
- A random device ID, a device name (for example "Firefox on macOS"), the browser user agent, the extension version and the store it was installed from. We use them to show your devices and apply the device limit of your plan.
- The location you connect to, to get sign-in details for that server.

What stays on your device
Settings, favorites, recent locations, your bypass list and server ping results are kept in Firefox extension storage and are not sent to us.

Browsing data
The extension does not collect, store or send your browsing history, page content or search terms. While the VPN is on, your browser traffic goes through the RealVPN server you selected, which passes it on to the websites you visit. Sites on your bypass list and local network addresses do not go through the VPN.

Time zone and location
To match the server you connect to, the extension changes the time zone and geolocation that web pages see. This happens inside your browser and nothing is sent to us.

Server speed checks
To choose the fastest location, the extension measures how quickly RealVPN servers respond. These requests go only to RealVPN servers.

Payments
Purchases open realvpn.io in a new tab and are handled by Stripe. The extension never sees your card details.

Third parties
The extension has no analytics, advertising or tracking code and does not share your data with third parties.

Your data
Signing out removes your token and account details from the extension. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored. To delete your account, write to support@realvpn.io.
