HOW IT WORKS

PHI Mask has detectors for PHI and PII based on patterns such as: name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, health card number, record number, and social insurance number of the person you are writing about. Based on your settings, these can be masked before any AI can see it; and then unmasked for your eyes only.

WHAT WE RECEIVE

Nothing. The text and files you mask stay in your browser. We do not receive them.

PHI Mask is HIPAA-compatible, not HIPAA compliant. Your file is masked in your browser and never sent to us, so there is no BAA to sign.

No. Detection and masking run locally in your browser, and your original input, filename, detected values, and stand-in map stay on your machine.

Is PHI Mask an AI service?

No. PHI Mask uses pattern recognition to identify names, emails, addresses, etc.. which means detection easily runs on your device, in your browser, and works offline. Your text and files are not uploaded.
