Video Downloader — Media Downloader Pro by Sujal

A video downloader for the kind of video other downloaders can't save: streaming HLS (M3U8) and DASH, saved as one MP4 file with the sound in it. Media Downloader Pro also finds the images and audio on a page and saves them one at a time or as a single ZIP.

Most free downloaders spot an .m3u8 link and hand you a playlist file that won't play. This one does the whole job: it reads the stream, lets you pick a quality, downloads every piece, merges in the audio track that streaming sites keep separate, and saves a single MP4 that opens anywhere. No ffmpeg, no .ts files, no silent video.

WHAT IT DOES

• Streams — HLS/M3U8 and DASH/MPD up to 4K, AES-128 encrypted streams included, merged into one MP4 with the audio.
• Live streams — record until you press Stop, or save the part that's still available.
• Ordinary files — MP4, WebM, MP3 and the rest, straight to your Downloads folder.
• Picky servers — the page's own Referer goes with each download, so video servers that turn away outside downloaders still work. (New in 5.1.)
• Images — every image on the page at full resolution, including srcset and lazy-loaded galleries, in a grid with a size filter. Select them all and get one ZIP.
• Audio only — keep just the sound of a video or stream as an M4A.
• Convert on save — WebM, MKV and MOV to MP4; images to PNG, JPEG or WebP.
• Queue — select several streams and they download one after another while you keep browsing.
• Side panel — dock it beside the page; it follows whichever tab you're on.
• Right-click any video, image or link → "Save with Media Downloader Pro".
• Dark mode, a keyboard shortcut (Alt+Shift+D) and 12 languages.

HOW TO USE IT

1. Pin the icon (puzzle piece → pin).
2. Open a page and press play. The number on the icon is how many files were found.
3. Click the icon and press Save. For a stream, choose a quality; the MP4 lands in your Downloads folder, and you can close the panel while it works.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

No account, no analytics, no ads, no server. Everything happens in your browser, and the list of found media is erased when you close it. The extension asks for access to all sites because video is almost always served from a different domain than the page you're on; that access is used only to find and save what you ask for.

WHAT IT CAN'T DO

• DRM-protected services (Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Spotify and similar). That video is encrypted beyond any extension's reach, and this one doesn't try.
• HEVC/H.265 streams, and MPEG-TS streams over 1 GB, are saved as .ts rather than MP4. They play in VLC.
• A live recording starts when you press Record, not from the start of the broadcast.
