About this extension
ESPHome LVGL Studio lets you design LVGL touch-display dashboards for your ESPHome devices visually – right in your browser, next to your existing ESPHome dashboard.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Drag & drop editor for LVGL widgets: labels, buttons, sliders, arcs, switches, bars, meters, images, QR codes, containers with flex/grid layout and multiple pages
• Live preview in the real display size (detected from your display configuration)
• Structure-preserving YAML: opening and saving a device without changes keeps your file byte-for-byte; when you edit, lambdas, comments, !secret references and all non-display parts stay untouched
• Split view with live YAML, static validation against the official ESPHome schema and live validation through your ESPHome dashboard
• 39 ready-made widget templates (climate, lighting, energy, security, scenes, Wi-Fi setup screens …) in four colour themes, labelled in your language
• Home Assistant entity autocomplete and automatic bindings
• Version history per device, undo/redo, keyboard shortcuts
• Optional AI assistant (OpenRouter, your own API key): describe a dashboard or attach a sketch, the assistant writes the YAML; compile errors can be fixed automatically. Changes are shown as a diff for confirmation by default.
• Compile and flash over the air from the browser
• Three interface themes (Nord Frost, Graphite & Amber, Forest & Teal)
• English and German interface, keyboard and screen-reader friendly
PRIVACY
No account, no tracking, no analytics. Your settings stay in your browser. The extension only talks to the devices and services you configure. It does not ask for access to “all websites” – access to your ESPHome dashboard, Home Assistant and other devices is requested per device when you first connect. Data is only sent to the AI service if you use the assistant, and to the map service only if you use an addon's map. Firefox asks for your consent before either happens.
REQUIREMENTS
An ESPHome dashboard (device builder) reachable from your browser. For the AI assistant: an OpenRouter API key.
