Recursive Shadow DOM Piercing: Traverses all open shadowRoot elements across the DOM tree to locate nested players:
Capture-Phase Event Interception (capture: true): Listens to 'play', 'playing', 'loadedmetadata', 'canplay', 'ratechange', and 'seeked' at the window level during the capture phase. In DOM Level 3 Events, e.composedPath()[0] pierces through any shadow boundaries, capturing the <video> element the moment playback starts.
Loop-Protected Rate Enforcement: If Reddit or any player script attempts to reset the playback rate to 1.0, Caspian detects the deviation and enforces the chosen speed without triggering infinite event loops.
Active Player Watchdog: A background watchdog periodically checks active playing videos in virtualized feeds (Reddit, Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram) and keeps them locked to your target speed.
