1. Privacy at a glance

Aurora Glass is designed to be local-first and privacy-focused.

We do not collect personal data.

We do not operate analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking systems.

We do not create user accounts or maintain a developer-operated authentication server.

Extension settings and profile information are stored in the browser's local storage.

The source code is publicly available for inspection.

Aurora Glass does not sell, rent, or share user data with the developer or with advertisers.

Some features can communicate directly with third-party services when the user chooses to use those features. Those requests go from the user's browser to the selected service; Aurora Glass does not proxy them through a developer server.

1. Information stored locally

Aurora Glass may store information such as:

appearance and layout preferences;

theme and shortcut-style selections;

app and folder links;

locally selected wallpaper or icon data;

profile name and display picture selected by the user;

language and clock preferences;

selected search engine;

local AI endpoint settings;

exported/imported configuration data;

other extension settings required for the extension to function.

This information is stored using browser-local storage and is not sent to a UniCone-dev server.

1. Search requests

When the user enters a normal text search, Aurora Glass sends that search request directly to the search engine selected by the user, such as DuckDuckGo, Startpage, Brave Search, Google, or Bing.

The selected search provider may process the request according to its own privacy policy. Aurora Glass does not receive or store the search provider's response on a developer-controlled server.

Entering a URL opens the URL directly in the browser.

1. Weather and location

The weather feature can use Open-Meteo to obtain weather information.

A network request is made only when the user uses the weather/location functionality. If the user presses the current-location button, the browser's geolocation functionality is used and the resulting location is used for the weather request.

Aurora Glass does not send location information to a UniCone-dev server.

Open-Meteo is a third-party service and its handling of requests is governed by its own policies.

1. Local AI

Aurora Glass can be configured to open local AI services such as llama.cpp, Ollama, KoboldAI, text-generation-webui, or another HTTP service running on the user's own machine.

These local AI connections are intended to use localhost/local-network endpoints configured by the user. Aurora Glass does not operate an AI proxy or developer server for these connections.

If the user configures a remote URL instead of a local endpoint, communication with that service is controlled by the configured destination and its own policies.

1. Optional Google Account connection

Google account integration is optional and is not required to use Aurora Glass.

The user must provide their own Google OAuth Client ID. Aurora Glass does not provide a shared developer authentication server.

When the user chooses to connect Google, communication occurs directly between the browser and Google's services using the user's configured OAuth client. Google may process information according to Google's own policies.

Users who do not want Google-related network communication can simply leave this feature disconnected.

1. Permissions

Aurora Glass requests only the permissions needed for its functionality.

Storage: used to save extension settings and configuration locally.

Geolocation: used only when the user activates the current-location functionality.

The extension does not intentionally use permissions for analytics, advertising, telemetry, or tracking.

1. Third-party services

Aurora Glass may interact with third-party services selected or activated by the user, including search providers, Open-Meteo, and Google when the corresponding features are used.

These services are independent of UniCone-dev. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Aurora Glass does not operate a central server that receives, profiles, sells, or stores users' extension data.

1. Data retention and deletion

Because Aurora Glass stores its extension settings locally, the user controls that data through their browser.

The user can remove the extension or clear its browser storage to remove locally stored extension data. Exported JSON configuration files are controlled by the user wherever they choose to save them.

UniCone-dev does not maintain a server-side copy of this local extension data.

1. Children's privacy

Aurora Glass is not designed to collect personal information from children or any other users. No developer-operated account or analytics system is used by the extension.

1. Changes to this Privacy Policy

If the extension's data practices materially change, this Privacy Policy will be updated and the effective date will be changed.
